James E. Williams is a native Memphian, is married to Shela, has seven children, two sons in law, and three grandchildren. He is a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he serves as a life group leader and an usher.
James attended Brunswick elementary, Mt. Pisgah High and Tuskegee University where he attained a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He later attained aMaster of Business Administration in Business Management from Buxton University while he was in Germany.
He is an army veteran, served three tours in Vietnam, twenty one years as a special forces Green Beret, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Served in Germany, France and Africa and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, Fort Riley, Kansas. His civilian career included support of the 6th Area Support Group in Stuttgart, Germany and Logistics Maintenance Officer in support of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait.
He was awarded 2 Purple Hearts, Defense Meritorious Service, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and numerous other awards during his military career.
After returning to Memphis, James worked at Hollywood Furniture for five years as a stock clerk. James is now fully retired and loves to write poems for his family and friends. He enjoys reading the Bible, going to movies and helping anyone he can.
He has beena faithful volunteer of Confidential Care for over a year and a half. James performsweekly servicing ofthe mobile units at the maintenance area of Bellevue Baptist Church.
